World Ozone Day – 2023 Celebrated

National Ozone Unit (NOU), Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) undertook a national level “ozone layer protection” campaign to enhance awareness of academia for supporting phase-out of HCFC in Pakistan. NOU support to various academic institutions of Pakistan comprised of technical and research-oriented skills for protecting ozone layer and was extended to 353 participants comprising of professors (21M, 20F), relevant government officials (101M, 24F), and researchers/students (53M, 134F).

NOU also awarded 05 industries (M/s Dawlance Pvt Ltd-Karachi, M/s Pakistan Insulation-Karachi, M/s Koldkraft Refrigeration-Lahore, M/s Foster Refrigeration-Lahore and M/s Symbol Industries-Lahore) with Ozone and Climate-Friendly Technology Awards for phasing out of 20.44 ODP tons (220.31 MT) of HCFCs from Pakistan during the years 2022-2023.
